This was the day after Elitches so you gotta believe that I was tired and drowsy that next morning considering I didn't get home till about two in the morning because I was at Giane's house. Well I woke up, had a large serving of my favorite cereal, Wheaties. Soon after, I biked to the Target at the Cheyenne Mountain Area near Tinseltown. There, Matt and Keanan picked me up to go meet everyone else at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort. It took us a while to actually get to the incline because we had to pick up Nick, who was still probably asleep when we were getting him. We arrived at Manitou Springs around 10:00 to 10:30. We started our hike up the incline with some who have done it before and with some being their first time up. Joy, Nick, Darlene, and I were the ones who've already hiked up the incline before. The newcomers to the incline that day were Matt, Keanan, and Mina. For all of us I thought, this was the fastest we all got to the top. For me, I got around 45-50 minutes to get to the top while the rest of the guys made it around an hour. It was an improvement, but I don't care what anyone says, hiking up the incline'll never be fun no matter how many time you do it. Real talk.
On the way back down, we decided to take Barr Trail down. All of us ended up separating and going into groups because of the different paces. Me personally, I started to basically run because I started to hear thunder rolling. A little past the halfway point, when a couple drops started to fall, I thought it was going to start raining harder. So I freakin' book it. When I got to the bottom, I went to take a long drink at the water fountain and washed my feet off at the sink there while I was waiting for everyone to finish up. We all finished the hike by going to the Subway near Target and Tinseltown to grab something to eat. After eating, we just called it a day for all of us I guess. Most of us I believe went home. I did the same and got something to eat. While I was waiting for 6:00 to come for bowling, hosted by the Thompson family, I ended up passing out for about two hours. When I woke up, I got dressed and left to go to the bowling alley.
I picked up Steven and arrived at the bowling alley on time. We played and bowled with two lanes for all of us. We played a couple of games and eventually got tired of it. During that time too, my head was hurting so much. It was probably from not hydrating myself enough after we went hiking. Thanks to Amanda's ibuprofen, my headache went away after a couple of hours. What sucked about it too was that I was getting really really hungry. But I wanted to save money and not give in to their bowling alley food which was overpriced I thought. Luckily, I found my last can of tuna and pineapples in the trunk of my car. We stayed at the alley for hours before we finally left. Part of the group had to leave earlier, which was Robert, his cousin, Ed, and Danielle. The rest of us were stuck at the parking lot for a short while trying to figure out what to do. Another part of the group decided to go to Taco Bell, which was Mina, Gabe, and Bri. We finally decided to just go to Denny's near Harrison. We waited for Anthony, Amanda, and Talia there, while they dropped off little Gabe home.
When they arrived, we ended up sitting there for another thirty minutes deciding on what to get. I was planning on not eating. But I finally gave in and got some biscuits and gravy. Steven and Matt got the samplers and Amanda and Anthony got the bottomless pancakes. While we were eating, we saw some coked out crack heads. It was pretty interesting watching them trying to spit some game to one of the waiters there. After finishing our food and talking for a short while, we went to the parking lot to talk yet again. Eventually, we officially called it a night there and went home.

Pike's Peak Incline [from Matt's Camera]
I said that this was memorable night for a reason. Nothing happened at all for me during the day. I pretty much didn't step a foot out of the house until almost 9 that night. I got picked up by Nick, Keanan, and Steven to join Ed and the others at Red Robin for dinner. When we got there, we had to wait for others to arrive. It was just the people riding in the car with me, Ed, and Robert with his cousin. The rest to arrive was the girls, Kristie, Joy, and Christine. From there, we all ordered our food. Well, I didn't order though as well as Steven. We stuck with the simple free water and the bottomless fries Red Robin provided. Surprisingly, that really filled me up. All I ate was fries and the leftovers of Joy's chicken sandwich. After that, we all drove by the theaters, I guess, to sneak in to the movies. We didn't go though. We instead went to Quail Lake to chill and relax. The other car, Robert's car, ended up following us. Before I left with my sister, we played some midnight basketball at the park. There was this game we started to play called, I think, Celebrity Basketball.
When I got picked up, Julie and I went straight to the Mendoza's place. There we got a couple of drinks, a shot or two, and all that good stuff. We just basically sat around for a little while and socialized for most of the time. I even tried a cigar just to see what it's like. It tasted like a strawberry Pop Tart to be honest, but I doubt I'm ever try that again. Steve and I eventually decided to go grab some late night Mexican food cause we were getting really reallly hungry lol. We went to the Albertacos on Austin Bluffs. I was looking forward to get a churizo burrito, but they said that they were out. I suspect BS, but it's whatever. I instead got a breakfast burrito with extra green sauce. When we got back to the Mendoza's house, the night was only beginning. We got back to find out that people were missing. Justin and Julie ended up to be the ones missing. They were dropping off Ralph and his cousin to his house I suppose. Anyways, when Steve and I walked to the basement to see what the other were up to, we saw the whole crowd except Ryan in the bathroom. I looked over to see he-who-shall-be-remained-nameless bleeding to death and everything. Ok, that may be a little over exaggerated, but it was pretty bad lol. So what ended up happening while I was out was that the dude tried to open up a bottle with his mouth and it ended up breaking on and cutting the dude on his chin really really deep. It was basically deep enough to the point where it needed stitches lol. Well, I still can't imagine the possibility of that happening especially when you look at the result of the bottle. I thought that was the buzz kill of the night. But it wasn't. Some of the people were nice enough to take the dude to the ER; the rest of us went back to the basement to watch a zombie movie, Undead. What a night.
Nothing special really happened Wednesday. That morning after eating and organizing more pictures, I actually drove the first time in like two weeks to Garcia Gym in Fort Carson to play racquetball with Jon and his mom. We started playing around 2:30 for about an hour. The games we played with all three of us were actually pretty intense. The last game with Jon especially was one of the hardest games I've played since I started playing racquetball. I went one on one for a last game for the day with Jon. After learning and playing racquetball so many time with him, I've learned to become a not so bad player. Still though, the game was intensely close. People had the courts reserved, so we had to keep our game short. We tried to have the game to a race to 11 instead of the usual race to 15. Towards the end of the game, we stayed in a draw because no points were being awarded because of change of possession. In result, with the score being like 13 all, we decided to call the game a draw because there were people waiting to play in the court.
Right after that, I drove back home to drop off my car to pick up my bicycle to bike to Sinton Park for our planned hang out. Before I left, I packed a ham and pepper jack cheese sandwich just in case I didn't go straight home. When I arrived at the park, I thought I was going to be late. Surprisingly, I was only the second person there. The only other person there was Steven. It was crazy for this guy cause he had to walk all the way from his house. Yahh, that's pretty far. More people started to show up, but unfortunately, no one brought a basketball. Keanan showed up, Then Robert and his cousin showed up. Still no ball though. Finally, Anthony and Amanda and Matt showed up. Both of 'em brought balls so because of that, we were able to start playing a game and shoot around. We play all the way till around seven. I had to wait for a while before I was able to bike home because it started to rain really, really hard. Once the rain slowed down, I biked home and that basically concluded my Wednesday. I stayed at home and finished the night looking through old picture albums and scanning a lot of those pictures.
That next morning, I had to wake up around 9 because I was gonna join Dennis, his two cousins, Sydni and Joe, and Megan to the Valley High Swimming Pool. I really didn't know where this place was at, but when we arrived there, I quickly recognized the pool from my childhood. When we got there, we came like 40 minutes too early. So what we ended up doing is we went to a local Walgreens to pick up some stuff. When we got back, that's when we started to swim. To my surprise, compared to the weather from the other night, that day turned out to be a pretty nice and hot day. It stayed really sunny for about a couple of hours before it started to get cloudy. We left the pool after it started to get really cold and it started to rain. I kinda passed out in Dennis's car on our way to his aunts house for dinner along with Joe and Megan. When we got to his aunt's house, we stayed and chilled there for a little while before eating dinner, which was nachos with a bunch of different stuff on it. They also had two really big dogs. One of the dogs specifically didn't like Dennis. He was like bipolar or something though. It was funny because after he would bark at Dennis, all of sudden he come up to him and start licking his hand lol. Once we finished that, we ate some cherry chocolate ice cream. That tasted really, really good ayy. After dinner and dessert, we all started to play this karaoke game on PS2 consisting of 80's songs and many recent pop songs. The highlight of the night for me was when both me and Dennis hit the high note in the song Take on Me by A-ha. We stayed playing that game for hours before we actually headed out. After we left and dropped off Megan, we went to Tinseltown to pick up our tickets for The Dark Knight showing. That's basically the started of my weekend right there.
Yahh, so the Monday after the Independence Day Weekend started really early for me, but late for some lol. I woke up around 10 that morning and called Jon to confirm our plans for that day, which was racquetball at Fort Carson at noon. Around 11:30 to a quarter till, I started biking up to his house to carpool with him along with Darlene and Keanan. When we arrived there, pretty much all of us were rusty for some odd reason. We were like missing the "gimme shots" and what not. Eventually though, we all shook off the rust and began playing some intense games. The most intense I had that day was playing one on one against Keanan in back to back games. There were several times during the game where the score stayed the same because the possession of the ball kept switching back and forth. After three hours of hardcore racquetball, we went out to Taco Bell to grab some lunch, special thanks to Mrs. Pugh. From there, we went back to Jon's house to hang out for a while. That basically concluded that night.
The next day was basically dull and boring to me all the way till I got outta the gym. I didn't leave my house till about 4-5 that afternoon to bike to the gym. I got outta there around 6:30 to meet everyone up at Baskin Robbin's for the usual Dollar Scoop. When I got there, I didn't notice the news till I actually got in line. There was no more Dollar Scoop. Starting that day, they changed to $1.25 Scoop. How freakin' lame is that !? Yahh, it really got me heated. I mean, first they freakin' raised the price of the Tuesday special at Popeye's gradually from $.89 to a whopping $1.19. But now they had to change the price for freakin' Dollar Scoop ?!? *Sigh* Well thank goodness I'm heading out of this atrocity come next month. From there, I can probably find a new place to treat myself. Anyways, after eating some ice cream, people wanted to hang out, but I was sorta in a cookie cause I had my bike with me. Thanks to Jeff though, I was able to carpool with him along with my bike, Nick, Jason, and Keanan to go to Fortuna to meet up with Amanda, Kailaini, and Briana. I didn't really eat anything there cause I was trying to save some money, but the others did. Once we finished up eating, we basically dropped my bike off at home then Steven, Nick, Keanan, and I all went to the Antiques Billiard Museum to play some pool. And eventually, Robert, Ed, and Ray came up there as well.
Well the day after the 4th of July, surprisingly, I already had my weekend planned out for me. That Saturday morning, I biked up to Mav's place to drive to the park near Anthony and Amanda's house near Jet Wing. We were supposed to meet up with everyone at the park at noon, which we did, but everyone showed up late. For almost an hour, Alex, Mav, and I sat around with our jug of water waiting for the others to show so we can get some basketball going on. We kinda got tired of waiting for them, so Alex asked the kid nearby with a basketball to play with their ball. Knowing us, we didn't think smartly to bring a basketball with us just in case people showed up late. Eventually though, the others showed up. Anthony, Geoff Piechowski, Matt, and Amanda showed up. Shortly after, Robert Pruitt showed up to play as well. We played a couple of games of 3-on-3. After an hour or two of basketball, we went back to Mav's place to go get ready for Fort Collin's. I biked home from Mav's to go get ready and take a shower as well.
Before we left to Fort Collin's, we had a little problem with transportation. In the end though, Kevin and Alex ended up just staying behind for the trip to Fort Collins. In Giane's car, it was Giane, Julie, Steve, and I. In Darien's car, it was Darien, Mav, RJ, Cameron, and Darien's cousin's, Victoria and Stella. We got there around night time at Fort Collin's. Before we headed to Patrick's place, we stopped by at Chipotle to get something to eat, finally. After eating that, we finished it off with some dessert at Cold Stone. I was pissed tasting the Cold Stone cause knowing that there's no Cold Stone near in the Springs. Anyways, after eating dinner, we finally arrived to Patrick's, even though we got slightly lost.
The night had just begun from there. Compared to the other times we went to that house, this time the house had every room themed and lit up with different colored bulbs. When I first walked into the house, the living room looked almost like a rave-like environment. There was two computers running at once behind the DJ's booth and there was a smoke machine and streaming lights flashing throughout the room. Near the kitchen and by the living room, there was a bar set up with Mike, the bartender for most of the night, ready to make drinks. The other two open rooms had different colored lights as well as different music playing in each of them. One room was lit blue while the other is lit red. I went to go to the red room where the hookah was at. Outside in the backyard was a beer pong set up and ready to go. During the middle of the party, I ended up actually getting the munchies. So in result, Mav and I went to a nearby gas station to pick up some stuff and Taco Bell to pick up some food. Let's just say the night was classic. Hookah, beer pong, music, hanging out at the roof of the house, watching out from dog doodoo in the kitchen, socializing with everyone. The night was basically ultra fun. I mean, even sleeping on the coffee table wasn't too bad. It was actually pretty relaxing when I woke up the next morning.
The next morning turned out pretty boring for the most part because everyone was sleeping or just wasn't there. When everyone finally got up Ryan E., Patrick, Giane, Steve, Hannah, Julie, and I went to Olive Garden to get some lunch. Pretty much everyone got the soup and salad there. After a couple hours of eating and then socializing in the parking lot, we finally started to head out back to the Springs. The time it took us to get back to the Springs felt like it was double the time it should've took probably because Giane was driving slow cause of the rain and her messed up wind shield wipers. It was all good though. We eventually got home around 6 the night. Right after brushing my teeth, putting on some clothes and fixing up my hair, I quickly left to go to Genna's house to celebrate her birthday. That's where I basically concluded my night. We watched the Olympic trials and this dancing show on MTV, ate a bit, talked a bit, and played some cards. It was a pretty fun way to conclude this 4th of July weekend.
Fourth of July's usually mean that you're gonna have BBQ's with the fam. That's what we did before I left to go do anything. Around 3:30, I left to go bike to Quail Lake Park to meet the peoples up for some basketball and hanging out. This was the first time I experimented with a sweater on a hot sunny day to prevent getting any darker. Surprisingly, I didn't sweat as much as I thought from wearing a sweater. When I arrived to the park, the first person I noticed was Dennis. I thought he wasn't going to come because no one was answering his house phone. We waited there for a little while till Jeff, Jon, and Matt showed up. After we chilled there for close to an hour, Anthony, Amanda, and Steven showed up. We started to play a game of 21 for a bit. We finally got the games going when Ray, Rudy, Ed, Robert, and Michael showed up. We played basketball all the way till around 7:30. After I biked home, I hopped in the shower and got picked up by my sister to go to Mav's place.
We ate when we got there. Oh my gosh dude, the BBQ beef that they had was simply amazing. After we stuffed ourselves with food, we went outside to have our little photo shoot with fireworks. It was Giane, Julie, Mav, Alex, Kevin, and I that were in this little shoot. Out of all of the fireworks that neighborhood used, the best one I thought was used was the windmill one where the thing was spinning. It was pretty sweet. After the photo shoot, I ate a little more and we just chilled out for about an hour before we headed out to Kevin's to chill yet again and watch a movie. That's where we basically concluded the night. For some reason though, I was feeling REALLY sleepy, REALLY early. I was like passing out on them at Kevin's while we just sitting there. I thought I really didn't do much that day, but I guess today really exhausted me out.
So everything basically stayed dull and boring till about 4 o'clock when me and Jeff headed to Anthony's and Amanda's BBQ at their new house near Sierra. Keanan, Matt, Steven, Dennis, John Briggs, Jon Pugh, Jeff, Ray, Ed, Robert were all there. Coming outta the basement was Kailaini and Briana. I was supposed to be the Crown Plaza for Tia's Debut around five, but I decided to stay for a little bit longer there. As a matter of fact, about two hours longer I stayed there lol. After chillin' at the house for about an hour, we all headed to a nearby park to play some 3-on-3 basketball. The game were intense for me especially since I was playing in dress shoes, a wife beater, and dress pants. Right after we finished, I cooled down and headed to the Crown Plaza.
Even though I arrived there two hours late, I didn't miss a thing lol. About ten minutes after I arrived, the things finally started. They did the usual cotillion. But the most memorable thing about this dance compared to other debut's, someone, specifically Mav, walked off the dance floor after four of their dancers were left confused during the dance. CLASSIC. The best part though about the whole debut, in my opinion, was the food that they were serving. The roast beef was medium rare (the way I like it), the rice and breadsticks were pretty decent. Best of all, the mashed potatoes were the pretty much the best I've ever tasted.
We finished the night going to someone's house and chillin' there with the peoples and the stripper pole in the basement. We ended up arriving home around four in the morning because we went to Denny's to satisfy our hunger.
So the day was pretty much like any other usual day. Not a thing happens in the morning; at night, we all gather together and hang out. So Robert Pruitt turned 18 today. I honestly forgot about his birthday party even though I got an invitation text lol. But yahh, once we gathered together at Robert, I actually had a good time. Sitting there, eating hotdogs and burnt burgers, playing some DDR, and some plain out socializing. Pretty sweet night if you asked me. Not only that, once me, Jon, Matt, Keanan, and Steven went to Jon's house, things got even funner. I don't know about you guys, but fun to me, if not sight seeing and looking around for something new, is just sitting there reminiscing and socializing and taking pictures here and there. When Jon brought down some of his weapon collection, things went down. After an hour of talking about kid shows we used to watch, we ended up for the next hour having our little kung fu weapon amateur photo shoot. It kinda makes me mad though that I don't have one of those high end SLR Nikon cameras. But, my Lumix did just fine.
So basically I went to drop off some stuff for college and got a haircut before going to Jeff's BBQ today. We had like everything when it came to keeping ourselves busy with sport activities: a Volleyball net (which took us about 30 minutes to set up lol), tennis courts, basketball courts. We even came prepared to use the rest of the field to throw a frisbee around. To be honest, time went by extra fast today. Especially since all we done at the park was throw a frisbee around, play some basketball and tennis, fooled around at the playground, and of course, eat pizza and talk with our friends. All of this killed about five hours of our time. Today was freakin' great. I mean considering also that I wasted a good $8 on a comedy thriller that was supposed to be chilling horror summer smash hit: The (freakin') Happening. Anyways, this was my last time before heading off to Mexico. Last time to hang out with everyone I usually hang out with. Well, to conclude, for a last hang out before I leave, it wasn't as bad as I thought.
