Every year, around this time of the month, the end of October through the first week of November seems to be a busy week no matter what's happening. Look at last year ...
Halloween, we were busy Chipotle hopping throughout the Springs. When I say "we," I'm talking about me and my Harrison Crew. Then we celebrated Joy's birthday and then later in the week, the first ever Powder Puff Game at Harrison before finishing that weekend off with our "Hotel Gathering" at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort.
Again, that was last year.
This year, things are a little different. We're no longer in high school, and most of us don't really keep in touch with each other anymore, well at least for me. I did the whole Chipotle hopping as well, except I did it on my own in Downtown Denver. It seemed like that whole weekend, and the week following it, I've been keeping myself real busy with things. Saturday I worked a mid-day shift before getting picked up to head to the Nuggets-Lakers game. This game was special in particular because it was Allen Iverson's last game as a Denver Nugget. Not only that, we got to see Montell Jordan perform, LIVE !! Things didn't end just there though, I got to do my usual window shopping at Cherry Creek before heading home to settle down Sunday. Monday seemed like to be the only normal day of my whole week. Nothing special really went on. I just went to class, then hung out with the crew in the student lounge chillin' and playing cards before heading out to pick some stuff up at the library. Those first two day of the school week that week I was really looking forward to because it was when I had to meet up with my scholarship advisor and my regular advisor about some major problems I had to get fixed ASAP.
After Monday, that's when things began to start happening. My Sociology class was cancelled in advance because of elections. After I dropped off my mail-in ballot, I thought I was going to be late for class, so I rushed to get to my Core Comp class on time. Little did I know, that class, too, was cancelled. So pretty much, Tuesday was a day of relaxation for the most part. The day went by fast too, because I had to work that night. Wednesday, was a day I had been looking forward to for the past couple of weeks because it was the day I planned to come to the Springs for the weekend. I went to class, as usual, then went out to downtown to eat some lunch with some friends before heading back to the lounge on campus to chill. I ended up heading out of Denver around four that afternoon to get to the Springs. I ate for a little while before deciding to hang with Dennis that night.
Thursday, the plans were to go to Harrison to watch the second annual Power Puff Game before going to Brunswick for College Bowling Night. It seemed like every day for this past week, something was going on ya know ?? It was great. On my birthday, I went out with my dad to eat out before going to Anthony and Amanda's house to celebrate Talia's .... or Lia-ta's first birthday. The night of my birthday was finished off with some late night grubbin' at Denny's with Giane and my sister. My birthday seemed to be celebrated again when me and a group of my friends went to Red Robin to go out to eat. We then finished the night watching Madagascar 2.
I haven't done one of these traditional "journal" or "diary" entries in a long while. So that means that something huge happened this weekend. Well, by just reading the title, you can assume what's making this period stand out more than a normal weekend or whatever.
Friday, it was the day before I planned to head to the Springs. A couple of days prior, my mom thought it would be a good weekend to come down because I could visit DJ and Tin since they were coming down for the weekend. After Math class, I decided to finish some errands to start off my "usual" Friday. I headed straight to the Denver Public Library to pick up a new book because I was on the way to finishing the book I've been reading that week before the next time I head back to the library; and to drop off and pick up some new CD's to copy to my music library. I seriously expected that my weekend was going to be relaxing and what not. I finished off the day hanging out and playing a couple hours of pool on campus with Dung before heading home and laying back for the night.
I packed up and everything the next day before heading to work. Everything was going grand; I was reading and finishing up reading my book on the train to work and I was excited to go back for the weekend. When I got to work though, I ended up finding out that I had to work both the next day and the day after that. Catch is, I couldn't or in other words, it was near impossible to have someone cover my shifts so either I had to lie and call sick, or go to work that next day. The thing that made things bad is that my mom was more than half way to Denver to pick me up when she found out the news, so I kind of had to go to the Springs and come back to Denver the next day; unless of course, I just not show up for work the next day (Sunday).
I arrived in the Springs around ten or so that Saturday night. I ate a little before I headed out to Joy's place first then to Tin and DJ's place to hang. It's great when you're talking to people you've grown up with all your life even though it was only for an hour or two. Even though we prolly only see each other once or twice a year, it's still quite easy to conversate and talk to each other. What a night though. I was hoping to wake up the next morning a little early so I can roam around the house and possibly study for my midterm exams that next day. I wasn't expecting to sleep twelve straight hours. I guess the weekend was really wearing me out. It was around one in the afternoon when I woke up and my mom's plans was to head to Denver around 3 or 4 so I could head to work on time. After eating a little at home and at Denver, I said my goodbyes and went to work. I wouldn't mind going to work, but considering I have two back-to-back midterm exams the next morning, going home around midnight and studying was going to be a hard task.
The next morning, after doing some studying the night before, I studied some more before going to my Math exam. Finished that with some uncertainty that I was going to finish the test coming out with an A. The same went for my History exam as well. It's ok though, I got my midterm paper from my History and was relieved to find out that I got a good grade for my paper while most of the class got worse. But things don't end there, I also had to go to work to finish that day. After playing some Killer, a card game I just learned today, I headed straight to work to finish the night off. What a weekend indeed. In the end, I figure all this hard work will pay off sooner or later.
This whole week turned out great !! You don't even know. Not only did I come out of the Springs with like 50+ movies downloaded to my external hard drive, I got to spend memorable times with my friends back home.
Thursday
Well, I woke up and my dad told me that he wanted to go eat out, which we ended up doing. Before eating out, I ate a Lunchables while making my video blog for the first half of my DNC break. When my dad got home, we went to La Casita to eat out. Instead of getting the usual cheese enchilada combination plate I usually get, I got the carnitas and steak combination plate. After I got home, I relaxed till about 7:30 later that night. I fell asleep while I was watching TV. When I woke up, it was already time for me to get ready to go to Papa Teddy's and hang out with everyone. I left and picked up Jon before heading down to Fountain, where Papa Teddy's was located. It was the first time I've ever went there, so it was of course an experience. When we first arrived to the place, the exterior reminded me of like a Chuck E. Cheese's or a Peter Piper Pizza's. When Jon and I walked in, we met up with Briana and Gabe. Amanda and Anthony came out during work to greet us and everything as well. Dennis eventually showed up, as well as Keanan, Matt, and Steven. Before we even got our food, me and Jon went up and sang the first song of the night. That wasn't the worst yet haha. After we got our two pepperoni pizzas, which I'd to say that they were the cheesiest I've tasted in a long while, me and Dennis eventually went up there and sang Beyonce's Irreplaceble. WOW. That's all I have to say. This was probably one of the most HARDEST songs I've sang lol. Karaoke at a pizza joint was a pretty neat idea. I had fun and I'm everyone else did as well. Towards closing time, the group of us minus Bri and Gabe (who'd already left) and Amanda, made an acapella of Ben E. King's Stand By Me. It was fun, though not the greatest harmonized performance in the world. Shoot, even one of the workers at Papa Teddy's told us that seeing us sing was the most entertaining thing he seen all day. I don't know if that's supposed to be a good thing though haha. After all that though, when we finally called it a night after sitting around in the parking lot, I dropped off Darlene and Jon and went home for the night.
Friday
The next day, we proposed to hang out at 3 that afternoon. That was the plan. No one really talked with each other till Steven finally texted me to hang out. I called up Matt and he joined us. We decided to go to my place for a short while because our original plan was to do "an acapella" and then later that night, watch Mirrors at Tinseltown with Jeff. That ended up not happening. Instead, me, Matt, and Steven went to Entertainmart for the PS3 drawings they were doing. We signed up for a raffle ticket and chilled out for a little while before going to the mall for about an hour. We walked around, got a double cheeseburger from McDonald's, then headed back to Entertainmart to get ready for the drawing. Psh. The winning number were not even close to any of ours. Man, the PS3 winner looked like he didn't even care. Anyways, we headed out right after that. As we headed out, it started to rain .. HARD. We ran to the car. On the way, my keys fell apart. I ended up losing my purple keychain along with my purple key bottle opener. I was pissed. We called it a day at Entertainmart right after trying to search for my keys. When we got back to my place, we chilled for a little while. Steven surfed the net while me and Matt made an acapella of BBMak's Back Here. Finally, we called it a night after that.
Saturday
It took us a while for us to finally figure out what we wanted to do. I didn't really eat much except some watermelon. I met up with Matt and Steven and Keanan. We chilled at my house for a little while before we couldn't take it anymore. After a couple hours of internet surfing, we decided to go to Wendy's on Nevada to meet up with Jon. Originally, we wanted to go to McDonald's. What happened was that pretty much everything on the Dollar Menu raised almost a quarter. So that's why we chose to go to Wendy's. There, we ate and after sitting around talking in the car, we left to go to Jon's house. At the parking lot, there was a pretty weird moment in which we were talking about funny lines in Harold and Kumar II. It seemed as though this homeless guy heard us lol. Anyways, at Jon's, we ate and chilled for a long while. We socialized and played N64 as well. At the end of the night, pretty much around 1 in the morning, I dropped off Keanan and Steven. Right after, I drove to Denny's near the Crown Plaza Hotel to meet up with Julie, Mav, RJ, and his friend. I didn't eat anything, but I ate other people's food. I ate some juicy bloody steak with some potatoes. Cheaa.
Sunday
Sunday was pretty much my last day to hang out with people. The Sunday started out very slow. I went to Dennis's to hang out with him one last time this break. But it ended up not being the last time because I eventually hung out with him the morning before I left lol. At Dennis's, we just talked about different things before he had to head out to work. Right after he left, I went home to grabbed something to eat. After eating, I drove to Ft. Carson to go to the gym to play racquetball with the Pugh's. As I drove, I kinda got myself lost and Jon had to redirect me to get to the right place. We played a lot of games that day. That day too, we played at interesting version of one on one with Tim serving for me and Jon lol. Anyways, after the gym, I went home for a little while undecided on what to do. I eventually made up my mind and decided to go to the movies to finally watch Mirrors at 10:10 that night at Tinseltown. I still had a couple of hours before the movie started, so I decided to watch some YouTube videos. I watched a couple of tutorial videos on how to do a back flip. The one that got me inspired to finally attempt a back flip on my own was a video giving me very original tips. The video told me to pretty much, "Man the 'eff up". Pretty good advice if you asked me. I went outside and tried it. The first 5 or so tries, I was extremely afraid and in result, my flips were crooked and I wasn't landing them. After I realized that I haven't broke my neck yet, I attempted it again with decent progress. When I finally got one and landed it, it was too dark to see on video. I can finally say though, that I officially landed a back flip.
After all that, I fell asleep and woke up just in time to get ready and leave for the movies. I picked up and met Steven. All in all, the movie wasn't too bad. I thought, in my opinion, the movie had a handful of scary parts. But that wasn't the highlight of that night at the movies. The highlight was that freakin' girl that was at the ticket booth. She was so hot haha. Not only that, the wife, the milf in the movie was also hot. Hence the description I've given her, "milf". After the movies, I felt a little hungry, so we went to the Burger King on South Gate. I got a Whopper Jr. and a six piece cheesy tot while Steven got two Whopper Jr's. What made the food amazing was, of course, the unbelievable Zesty sauce provided by Burger King. We called it a night finally after that.
Monday
Finally, my DNC was coming to a true end. It was Labor Day and I was ready to head back to Denver. That morning, Dennis picked me and Matt up to go to Burger King for breakfast. We ate and talked for a little while. Our time was limited because we had to leave to Denver before noon. Dennis dropped me off after about an hour of hanging out. We headed out soon after that. We went to Sam's Club first to get something to eat as well as my new laptop backpack. I eventually realized that I forgot something at home. I forgot some dress clothes for the REACH Scholarship Meeting that Friday. After we went back home and got my stuff, we finally headed up to Denver. We went to my apartment to unpack before doing anything else. My mom cleaned up my kitchen without being asked to and vaccumed some of the apartment. After I took a shower, we headed out and went to the China town area to eat and pick up some more stuff. After that, I drove us to Park Meadows Mall to look around. My mom dropped me off at the County Line RTD Station and I took that to get home. When I got home, I watched a movie or two and chatted the night away.
This weekend was amazing. I couldn't really log this blog like I usually do cause I was pretty busy the whole weekend. After finishing my first week of school, it was time to just relax and have fun going back to the Springs to hang out, eat, and dance at the 2008 Filipino Pageant. I woke up that Saturday early as I did that whole past week. I did try to sleep in though, that didn't really happen though. My main plan for the day was to meet up with Ray at the Alameda RTD Station at 3 that afternoon. Before that, I tried to finish up as much homework as I could. I stopped during the middle of the chapter and called it quits. I eventually finished up the homework though. Going to the RTD, I brought my laptop, Math homework, and a suitcase with all my dirty clothes. The stupid thing I did this time was that I had intentions of doing my English homework in the Springs, right ?? But I ended up forgetting to bring my laptop's AC adapter. So the whole weekend, I just needed to use the battery I had left on my laptop as efficiently as possible. I met up with Ray a little past three. From there, we headed to the County Line Station. That station's the same area where Park Meadows Mall is located at. From there, we patiently awaited for Giane's arrival.
Since it was raining a bit hard at the time, I knew Giane was going to be slightly late cause I know how afraid she is to drive in the rain. We got into the Springs around 6, just in time for the Pageant. After we dropped off Ray, we headed straight to the Crown Plaza Hotel, where the Pageant is annually located at. When we arrived, the event had just started. Giane and I were both undressed, so we went to the hotel room we had checked out and changed into a more appropiate attire for the event. When I got back into the ballroom, I ate a lot of rolls with butter and salad. We talked a little while, ate, and watched the Pageant take place. The talents for each lady was different for each person. Alyssa Magalong played her violin rendition of Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go on". Ann-Ann did her usual hula dancing with money being thrown at her lol. Grace Norris sung a song. Jenny did a hula dance as well. My sister did their dance they practiced for. They danced to Madonna's recent "4 Minutes". I had fun that night. The only problem I was really having was my right ear. What happened was that with the changed of elevation from Denver to Colorado Springs, my ears didn't adjusted right probably because I forced them to adjust. Bad idea. My ears didn't feel normal until I actually got back to Denver Sunday night. And even still, there's a noticable difference with my right ear compared to my left ear. It'll get better though, hopefully. It was great seeing everyone again after moving up to Denver. Nothing much happened after the Pageant. We headed over to Denny's to grab something to eat before simply going back to the hotel and sleeping for the night. At the room, Giane and Steve had one bed while me, Marie Fe, and my sister had the other bed. Maverick didn't want to join either bed so he chose to sleep on the floor. The next morning, we just all left and I went home to get some Filipino food to eat for lunch. On the way home, we dropped by Albertsons to pick up some food for me to take back home at Denver. When I got home, I was so happy to be eating some Filipino food again. It felt awesome eating some rice ya know ?? About an hour or two later, we left to Denver. We headed to the Cherry Creek Mall first before heading to the China Town area to look around and pick up some more food. After the China Town area, we left to my dorm and drop off my stuff. After we put my food and clothes away, we went to Picante's to grab some dinner. I ate a pork and green chile burrito. It was amazing. After dinner, the fam went off to go back to the Springs. I finished the night completing my Math homework, which I found out later on I didn't even have to do yet, and chatting with friends on AIM and Yahoo Messenger.Picture Downloads:

Well the process lasted for two days. The way things were going for me at first made me a little nervous. That Saturday, the whole family went up to Denver to get things settled straight with the housing and all. Everything in the end turned out well. At first, when I knew that I wasn't going to be at the Campus Village, I was being negative about my whole stay up in Denver. The alternative place I was going to stay at was the Inn at Auraria. I double checked it the night before online. I'm being very honest when I say that I thought I was going to be living at a broke down dorm. No lie. Looking at the pictures though, I found out the total opposite. The place was huge. Not only did it have a full kitchen, but I was going to have my own room. That morning, I told just about everyone that Friday was pretty much my last day to see everyone. I had so much going through my mind during that time. Well, it wasn't compared to how much was going through my mind later that night. Walking through downtown, I kept thinking of the fact that I was actually going to be living in Downtown Denver for the next year. During our stay there Saturday,we got some frozen yogurt with a bunch of chopped up fruit on it from this ice cream place. It was pretty good. After we finally made my housing official, we all drove down to Alameda and Federal to the China Town they had in ghetto Denver.
The first thing we did when we got there was that we went to the Vietnamese restaurant we always went to and got something to eat. Usually I would get the pork chops plate with rice, but instead I got a squid plate with lemon sauce with rice. After eating, we walked around to the shops and picked up some food there. Once we got done, we drove home. On the way home, I passed out and woke up when we arrived in the Springs. We stayed home for a long while. Julie's head was hurting, so she didn't even leave the house any time after that. I first went to Target to try and print out some pictures. That didn't work out at all. I then went to King Soopers to pick up some money to pay people back. I dropped off the money I owed Geoff before heading to Joy's house to give her one last goodbye. I stayed there for about an hour before heading home to meet up with Brian to help me finish up packing. I didn't end up finishing up packing until about 2 in the morning. And still, I still manage to forget a lot of stuff. That night though before I even headed out to Target, I had a little private sad moment. My dad came up to me when I was in my room and asked me if I was ready to go and handle Denver. I told him that I was sure. The second after he replied that he knows I could handle it, I started to tear u and breakdown. I couldn't handle it, so I had to turn my head away so no one could see my face. It was a sad moment that lasted for about 20 minutes.
The next day stayed hectic from the time we got there till about 4 hours later. It was that bad. We arrived on time for the move in, 8 to 8:30. I thought I was bringing a lot by bringing my TV and my stereo system. Nope. There were people that were bringing washing machines, mini refrigerators, and 40+ inch screen TV's. The worst part about it is that I had to bring my stuff to the 17th floor. Since we were without a dolly, It was taking us about five or so trips to get all of my stuff moved in. I can finally relax now that my stuff's moved in. The problem now is that I still have to organize my room and set up my stereo system.
After moving in, the fam and I went to a restaurant called Picante, a Mexican restaurant. When walking in there, it eerily reminded me of an exact duplicate of Chipotle, except there was a much better selection there. Not only did they have a nice selection of burritos, there were choices for breakfast burritos as well. There were taco salads available and combination plates available as well. The best part about that place was that they gave us literally double the servings Chipotle has ever given me. I love it.
After we ate, we went to a Super Target near the Cherry Creek Mall. We went there to pick up some last minute things I needed to get. We got things like a toothbrush holder, a soap holder, and a bicycle helmet. I got dropped off and said my last goodbyes to my parents when they were dropping me off at the University of Denver RTD station. I rode back to the Invesco Field stop and walked back to the dorms. After laying down, Ray hit me up to hang out cause he just finished moving in. I bike over there and met him up. From there, we hung out and walked around downtown. We also ate at Picante for dinner. As we were walking, the food like hit me really bad. I was looking for a bathroom on the 16th Street Mall. It wa almost impossible. Every store didn't have a bathroom and the one that did were locked to "paying customers only". That was crap. Thank goodness I found a nearby Starbucks. As we were walking downtown, we discovered where stores like Ross and Walgreens were at. We also discovered were fast food joints were at. There was a McDonald's, Taco Bell, Arby's, Pizza Hut, Good Times, pretty much everything we would need while living here. We also have a movie theater and a bowling alley nearby as well. This place is great.
We finished walking downtown and decided to grab some ice cream given free by my housing. Then we decided to walk to the Campus Village, we Ray stayed at to hang out a little and check out his dorms. I met his roommates and played some Guitar Hero III with them before heading home and trying to fix up my place.
That morning, I worked on finishing up my new profile for hour before I finally got out of the house around six. Dennis and I, well mainly Dennis, came up with the plan with hanging out at the Citadel Mall with everyone. I drove for the second day in a row and picked up Dennis and Kyle to meet up with the rest of the peoples. When we arrived, we first went to this jersey shop and looked around for a bit. The three of us was just the three of us for a short while. I decided to call my mom up while I was there so I could get some food money when I get hungry. Not surprisingly, my mom was at the mall too. The three of us walked to American Eagle, where she was at. Right when I arrived, I made a deal with her without even saying anything to her. I had to suck up to her and do whatever she told me to so I can get my food money. For about twenty minutes, I had to try on some clothes. It was worth it though. I needed to modify my outdated wardrobe. That day, my mom got me a new pair of K-Swiss skater shoes, a pair slippers, a pair of shorts and 7 shirts. Sweet. Thank you Mom.
After saying bye-bye to the mother, Matt, Keanan, and Nick had just arrived. I didn't only walked out of that store with five dollars for food money, but also my sister's lunch from Panda Express. When I walked out of the store, Nick and Keanan were talking to Megan Stimol and Ashley Hendricks. Right after that, we went to the food court to sit and talk. Eventually, we all got up and about half of us got some Chick-Fil-A to eat. I got the usual, as usual. From there, we went to the arcade and all these other places. As you can evaluate from the pictures posted, the boys were caught unexpectedly in a suspect position with Barney. SMH haha. After hanging out at the mall just having a good time, we headed out and left to go to the Carls Jr. near Harrison. There we witnessed Nick and Dennis deepthroating their Six Dollar Burgers while Kyle manfully ate his jalapeno cheese burger. We stayed there for a little while, but we had to cut the Carls Jr. hang out short because the workers there were hinting us to leave so they could start closing. From there, Kyle and Dennis had to go home. The rest of us chilled for a short while at my place. That too was cut short because they needed to head home.
I didn't want to just stay home, so I asked my mom to drop me off at Giane's, where Julie and Giane and Ginger were chillin' at. When I got there, we sat there for a little while just talking. RJ, Russell, and their cousin arrived shortly after. Socializing, gossiping, me working on my cool new Myspace page was all that was happening there. We ultimately decided to go to Denny's to grab yet another midnight snack a second night in a row. Again, we arrived during a drunk rush, so it was kinda packed when we arrived. It felt a little awkward because I was the only one just sitting there with a laptop right in front of him. Yahh, I was confident to finish up my first Myspace DIV profile, which I ended up doing when we got home later. Surprisingly, I didn't order anything. But I still somewhat ate, I freeloaded from everyone's plate except Russell's. We stayed there for a good hour and a half before we finally called it a night.
The night stayed young for me though. I didn't get to sleep till like 8 that next morning. I actually finished my page and had it up and running in just about 20 minutes after we arrived home from Denny's. But knowing me, I had to keep experimenting and modifying my page. I eventually came to a finish hours and hours later. I felt proud. I felt inspired now to use this as a new hobby since I'm actually not too bad with Photoshop as a beginner.
At the Bear Creek that morning, there was a breakfast promotion for $0.95 breakfast for their country fried steak breakfast plate. I had to wake up about an hour and a half earlier than pretty much everyone else because I had to bike. I pretty much woke up around 4:30 that morning. Before I left to bike to Anthony's place up on North Jetwing, I had a bowl of Wheaties to ensure that I won't get hungry on the bike ride there. I arrived at his place right on time so we could head out carpooling. We got there with already many people there eating. I was with Anthony, Amanda, Talia, Amanda's brother Gabe, and her mother. We didn't really have to make the waitress wait for us order, cause we already knew what we had in mind. Before we got our food, Amanda forgot Talia's diaper bag so she had to run back to the house to grab it. Our food came to us before Amanda got back so we started eating. About halfway through my plate, Amanda arrived back. Soon after, Briana and Matt came in as well. For only $0.95, I don't think I've ever had as humongous of a breakfast as that. The country fried steak took up nearly all of the plate and the biscuit looked like a Mondo Burger (Good Burger anyone ??) sized dinner roll. As usual, I cleaned out my plate, it was great. After that, we didn't really do anything else. We stuck around the parking lot talking (and gossiping *cough* lol ..) for almost a hour it felt like. We ended up splitting up after that.
When we arrived back at Anthony and Amanda's place, I called it a day with them and went off biking back toward my place. On the way there, I stopped by the shop through the strip of Southern Academy. I checked out Hancock Plaza and even browsed around window shopping at the Dollar Tree there. When I got back home, I passed out for hour till about noon I think. That night, Jeff and I made plans to go watch the new Mummy movie, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor at Tinseltown. But before that, that was when I had nothing to do .... at all. I thought about what to do and finally came up with a solution to use up some time. I decided to start making a whole new Myspace profile. After checking out this one dude's profile, it inspired me to make my own because I realized that I was capable to make one as good as the one I saw. I started with just the left side of the page. I ran out of time eventually because I had to go to the movies, so I put the project aside for night.
When I arrived at Tinseltown to meet up Jeff, Keanan, and Nick, I easily found a parking spot. That wasn't the most surprising part of that night. What surprised me was the amount of Harrison High Schoolers were there. After the movie, we saw people like Jeanette there. Anyways, on the way up to the front, I saw Keanan. As I was walking, out of nowhere, these people started to talk to me like they knew me. They knew who I was, but I really didn't know who they were. After all that, I met up with Keanan to wait for the other two and then something else happened. So this thirteen year old came up to me and started talking to me like she knew me as well. She kept trying to think of a name for me I guess. She called me Allen and Alex repeatedly until I finally just said that that was my name. Nick was the next one to arrive. I told the two to go ahead of me and go into the theaters because I had to wait for Jeff. He had my ticket, so yah. When he arrived, we went to the theater just in time for some movie previews.
After the movie, I was disappointed somewhat. Compared to the first two Mummy's, this was one the corniest of the three. Also, the actress who played Evelyn, the wife in the first two Mummy's, didn't return for the sequel. That made me almost as mad as I was when Katie Holmes didn't return to reprise her role as Rachel Gawes in The Dark Knight and instead put an uglier person in for the role. The movie wasn't too bad though, if they were to take out the corny jokes and put Rachel Weisz in to play Evelyn, then the movie would be pretty decent in my opinion. Anyways, after the movie, we were stuck figuring out what to do.
So what we did was that we went to the McDonald's near Harrison High School. Coincidently, all of us drove .. except Matt. So to save gas, we decided to carpool with Nick's Escort to go the McDonald's. There we didn't even get anything to eat. We just hung out and a couple of them got themselves just a drink. After Jeff left to go home, the rest of us went to Nick's place to chill for a little while. Nick and Matt went onto the computer while me and Keanan played a game of NBA 2K8 on the PS3. After that game, we called it a night. All of us went our separate ways. I left and went straight to Ihop in Southgate to meet up Julie and Giane for a midnight snack.
I had to wait slightly longer than usual for them because they were running on Filipino time, for sure. After about 25 or so minutes, they finally arrived. Marie Fe, Victor, and Steve with his friend, showed up as well. There were a lot of people there that night. Maybe it was because we went in during the drunk rush. Basically when everyone was getting out of the clubs to cop something to eat. I ordered a simple sampler which I finished amazing fast. That wasn't the highlight for the stay there. The highlight was this drunk guy confronting us and talking to us out of nowhere. He was just hilarious. He kept talking about dance battles and American's Best Dance blah blah. It was insane. Another funny situation there was when Marie Fe ordered out of the freakin' dieters menu lol. Her chicken was dry as the Sand Dunes. As we were heading out, that same drunk guy made an insult towards Steve. It was crazy because once Steve turned around, the guy quickly said he was kidding. Funny stuff.
The plans for this day was pretty much well planned from the very beginning. We were to go to the University of Colorado Denver to finish up the things I need to officially call myself a student there. Then I was to go with Joyleen to spend a night at her sister, Katherine's apartment. I woke up later than I was originally planning to. There was a pancake, made fresh by the madre. I had to wait about an hour or two though before we actually left to Denver because she left to go drop something off at the bank. When we finally left to Denver, we stopped by the McDonald's and Shell by Harrison to fill up on gas and to grab something to eat so we wouldn't get hungry while we were out. We exited on exit 195 on I-25 to drop Julie's car at the RTD parking lot to ride the light rail to the University of Colorado Denver.
So Julie bought three student tickets for all three of us instead of two adults and one student to save some money. My mom was planning to not buy any tickets at all because through the all the other times we rode the light rail, there were no checks for legit tickets before that day. At one of the stops before the Auroria Parkway stop, a RTD security law enforcer, if that's what you call them, came in and asked us if we had any tickets. Luckily for me, my ticket was legit since I was a student under the age of 20. Not lucky for my mom and Julie though. The officer ended up giving them "warnings" for buying the wrong ticket. The funny thing was that my mom was acting, not that well though, like she didn't know what she was doing. It was really annoying because she was bugging the officer about not knowing that it made it obvious that she was lying lol.
When we arrived to the Auroria Parkway station, we eventually found out that it was much closer to the Campus Village if we were to wait one more stop in the RTD, which was the Invesco Field station. We finished up the paper work for requesting a room and everything after clearing up some major misunderstandings thanks to the attendant there. From there, we walked to the financial aid office near the North Classroom to talk to someone about my financial aid. After that, we walked to the Tivoli to do a couple more errands. I finally got my student ID and bus and RTD pass weeks after the freshman orientation when I was originally intending to get it on. I also went downstairs to check out the bookstore where I picked up one of my books and got information about the rest of my books for my classes. I walked out of that store, not only with that one book for my class, but my mom also bought me a new CU buffalos book bag too. Because of that, I can finally replace my old worn out American Eagle book bag I used all summer.
Once we left the bookstore, we went back on the RTD to head back to the car to go to the Park Meadows Mall. When we arrived, everything surprised me there. I knew that they were building a Border's there as well as an outdoor section to the mall. But what surprised me was that everything was finished already. I wasn't expecting that. We ate some dinner right when we arrived. I was seriously thinking about just simply getting Chick-Fil-A to eat, but something changed my mind. There was a worker that was giving out samples of their meats from Cajun & Grill. They gave me about three different samples before I finally decided to just get their food instead of Chick-Fil-A. I got the barboun chicken plate with a side of veggies and fried rice. I even got a full serving of my mom's and food and Julie's too because, I guess, they were getting full. I said my goodbyes to my mom and Julie and went to Border's to look around and wait for Joyleen to pick me up. I looked at the photo albums as well as some Adobe Photoshop books. About thirty to forty-five minutes later, I got picked up.
We went straight to Katherine's apartment to get settled for the night. When we arrived, we chilled out for a little while and watched some House on TV. After that, we dropped our stuff off and soon after, went to Albertson's to grab some supplies for Waterworld. We picked up some chips, Chex Mix, Spam, and Oatmeal Cream Pies. When we got back to the apartment, Joy made those spam rice sushi looking things that Mav's mom made when we went to Elitches early this July. We didn't do much after that. Most of us were passed out by midnight. I fell asleep pretty fast and according to the people sleeping in the same room with me, I snore.
Well the day started out with me finishing up the text part of the blogs from Elitches and the Pike's Peak Incline and Bowling that next day. I was sorta worried that I was going to get behind because I had a lot on my mind for those blogs. Luckily, just before I left to go meet up with the others to hang out and play basketball at Sinton Park, I finished the Elitches video and at the same time finishing the last couple of sentences for my latest blog that day. Around four that afternoon, I headed with my bike to Sinton Park. I thought I was going to be late or something. To my surprise, I was the first and only one there for about 15-20 minutes. Good thing though, people eventually started to show up. Originally, we had plans to go swimming right after the park. But that didn't happen. We stuck around the park, not necessarily just playing basketball the whole time, but pretty much just hanging out and attempting back flips. I myself didn't attempt any back flips, but Jeff did. The results weren't pretty when he tried doing one a second, guided lol. Matt and Keanan also attempted to try and do front flips. Keanan eventually successfully completed one ... and on video. After we got thirsty, we all went to 7-11 to cop ourselves some Slurpees.
While we were there, I gave Keanan and Matt the idea to start taking a collection of picture in front of places doing back flips. While they were doing their back flips, they seemed to be getting some attention. These two guys started walking out and they confronted Keanan and Matt. They convinced them to do yet another back flip for them on video. Now that's what you call Keanan and Matt, monkey flipping celebs. I called it a day for myself with them and split ways to go to Giane's place to meet up with the rest of the Flips. When I got there, Julie took me home to drop my bike off while I got washed up and ready to go to downtown for dinner. When we got back to Giane's we left straight to downtown to meet up with Julius and Romano at Old Chicago.

When we parked and tried to get a seat at Old Chicago, there was a thirty to forty-five minute wait for the table. So what we ended up doing to kill time for dinner, we just walked around and talked. While we were walking, that's when we met up with Julius and Romano. Time seemed to go by fast because before we knew it, we were called to get seated. When we got seated, it took us a short while to figure out what we wanted to get. I ended up being the last one at the table to be undecided. When the time came up, I decided to get a mushroom swiss burger. In the end, I ate a lot. I ate my food, some of Marie Fe's chicken sandwich, some of Julie's nachos, some of Giane's fish, and some of RJ's quesadilla. I was stuffed. After staying there for about two and half hours, most of us went back to Giane's to chill. RJ left when we got back, same with Marie Fe. Julie and Hannah stayed behind to go to the Ritz for a couple of hours. So we just chilled and talked and me, Steve, and Mav watched Giane and Julius practice for the dance before we eventually left for home when Hannah and Julie arrived back.
Well, before I go into the main topic for this blog post, I'll talk about what happened the day before and that night after Elitches. Well nothing important happened, but I found out something big about myself. The day before Elitches, I pretty hung out with my sister with going to the gym and having her come with me to get a haircut. After picking up some Culver's from the drive thru, we went to Giane's house. There, I found out that she now owned a bunny. Towards the end of that night, I started to figure out that I may be allergic to rabbits as well. The next day for sure I knew that I was allergic to her little bunny, Ginger Lillian. The night after Elitches, I got dropped off at Giane's to join her, Julie, and Julius.
Anyways, back to the main topic. So that morning, I got picked up to join Bri, Gabe, and Mina. To my surprise, they were originally planning to get food at the theme park. Thanks to the Asian Filipino Kuripot-ness in me, I made sure that didn't happen lol. We dropped by Target to grab some food for lunch there. We picked up some bread, cheese, sandwich turkey, Welch's fruit snacks, and fudge cookies with cans of Sprite and bottles of water to wash all that down. We drove and got there on time to get our tickets before the lines started to grow. Once inside, we went to ride our first ride of the day, which was the Sidewinder. We then went to the Tower of Doom, Mind Eraser, and the Boomerang before heading out to Gabe's car to eat lunch. The first time we rode the Boomerang, we planned to pose and smile for the camera during the ride. We all thought the picture was going to turn out well, but they deleted the picture before we even got to preview it because of "sexual gestures" lol. So apparently, one of our riders made a peace sign and stuck his tongue. Coincidently, with the angle of the camera, it looked like him licking through his peace sign ... you get the idea haha. Also, on the Tower of Doom, I decided to try and tape our ride, but I didn't hide the camera fast enough. The operator acted kind and ask me ..... well basically told me that she was going to put my camera down by my stuff. Another ride I remember specifically is the Shipwreck Falls. Someone ... *cough* Bri and Mina *cough* told me that if you sat in the front of the ride, you wouldn't get as wet. Hmmm, that was a whole bunch of ass cake because we ended up getting soaked SMH. It was a good thing though for me cause all I was wearing during that ride was my swim shorts and my slippers. The day was only just beginning.
We decided to go eat right after that. Maybe we walked to slow to the car or something because when we were going near the car, there was another family going for the table. Shoot, it was a little heartbreaking because we planned to eat on one of those picnic tables. Good thing though that one of the families was kind enough to allow us to sit right beside them to eat. The food was so good that we sorta overate. It didn't bother us though with the 15-20 minute break we took before heading back in. We planned to go straight to the water park right after lunch. That didn't quite happen though. Since we kinda ate a little too much for lunch, we decided to just take our time and look around the shops inside the park. It seemed a little repetitive because we (me, Mav, and Alex) did the same thing when we went. But it was fun because there was a different group of friends with me. Finally after looking through all of the shops, we were finally ready for the water park
When we got to the water park, we were very fortunate to find a beach chair to put our stuff on considering how surprisingly busy the day was at the time. Right after we put our stuff down and everything, we went straight to the wave pool. The wave pool at Elitches wasn't too bad for what it was; granted, the one at Waterworld, known famously to Colorado residents as Thunder Bay, was and will always be much much better than the one we were swimming at that day. After the wave pool, we all got the guts to go to the individual water slides. It was pretty cool even though it's not as high as the other slides i've been on. There was another tube slide we were planning to go to that supported all four of us at the same time. The problem was when we got to the top of the slide ready to go in line, they decided to close the water park because it began to thunder and rain. If you thought that other thing was heartbreaking, this was heartbreaking for sure. We quickly left the water park because it started to rain really hard. Luckily, the staff allowed us to get into the showing at the theater, Imaginique, to get us away from the rain. The show was pretty much the same as the last one I saw when I went with Mav and Alex.
When we got out of the theater, I was surprised to see that it totally stopped raining. The best part about it was that they reopened the water park for the next hour and a half. We quickly went straight there, dropped our stuff off, and went straight to the big tube slide we wanted to ride originally before they freakin' closed the water park. Yep, that ride was pretty fun. Mina and I then went to ride more individual tube rides before we met up with Gabe and Bri at the lazy river. After going to the little kiddy part of the park and back to the wave pool yet again, we called it a day from the water park. Not much went on at Elitches after that. We went and rode the Boomerang a second time to get a nice picture during the ride, which I might say, turned out pretty decent. We left the park pretty much after that last roller coaster ride. For dinner, we decided to go to Casa Bonita a couple of miles away.
When we arrived there at Casa Bonita, Mina and Bri had an idea to see the reactions of people if they were to "accidentally" drop my camera into the water in the fountain that was there. They did it and there was this blond lady just staring at Bri when she saw her drop my camera into the fountain. It was priceless lol. When we were getting seated, we were hoping to be sitting at a good spot near the waterfall instead of in the basement where no one was there. We didn't get seated there, but we did get seated at the theater none of us realized was ever there. It wasn't too bad cause there was a magician there doing some magic tricks. After two full plates of food and some sopapillas, I called it quits. We concluded our night there. To conclude, I gotta say that Elitches with my Harrison people was a night to remember for me. I thought our day was ruined when it started to rain, but it didn't lol.
