Networking.

After about a semester and a half through my freshman year, I'm finally realizing that the best way to get ANYTHING, is through networking.  Getting a nice job, getting good prices for your wardrobe, discounts at restaurants or hotels when you travel, and even your future wife could be best retrieved by networking.  I went to a couple of parties over the weekend and met a nice handful of people because of it.  Then it hit me, that's how you find more parties; that's how you find more girls to mingle with.  It's through networking.  A person that was talking to me and my scholarship group last week claimed that 78% of all full time workers get their job through other people within the company.  If networking is what gets you to become successful and what gets you what you want, that's what I need to do more often.  So in a way, MySpace and other discussion forum can become useful in terms of networking.  It's a great way to promote your blog.  It's a great way to promote your art or whatever.

Yes, this isn't anything new, but it's new to me.  Sometimes I truly believe I'm a moron for not noticing what's around me and thinking thoroughly through these type of things.  I'm learning though, and it intrigues me when I do learn something new.
